2021 Annual Quarter Peal Report
Added at 13:53 14th February 2022 by Anthony Leeves |
2021 was another unusual year for quarter peals. The year started in lockdown with a few family handbell quarter peals of Minimus or Minor. The relaxation of restrictions towards the end of March saw a few handbell quarter peals in the open air and the rule of 6 in May saw tower bell quarter peals of Doubles and Minor resume. General quarter peal activity returned in July, but still with fewer being rung than pre COVID.
Birchington regained its place as the leading tower.
Congratulations to the 12 ringers who rang their first quarter peal, and to the two firsts as conductor. Five people rang their first quarter peal on handbells. Richard Bushell rang his 500th quarter peal.
The first ten bell quarter peal on the augmented ring at Faversham was rung.
