KCACR Quarter Peals Record

Report 30 September 2007

Added at 14:29 1st October 2007 by Anthony Leeves
546 quarter peals are now recorded on the database for 2007 from Campanophile and Ringing World entries up to 30 September. Canterbury lead the way with 159, although their 146 on tower bells is only 1 ahead of Ashford's 145. Ashford have achieved the highest average per tower (3.2) while Maidstone have the greatest coverage with 64% of their ringable towers recording a quarter peal.

Ashford (29) and High Halden (28) are the leading towers and Darren Elphick (40), Mark Chittenden-Pile (34) and Richard Edwards (32) are the leading conductors. It is no surprise that Plain Bob (139) and Grandsire (103) are the leading methods, but by a strange coincidence the 100th of Plain Bob and the 100th of Grandsire recorded on the database this year were both rung at Brasted.

Congratulations to the handbell ringers at Faversham who rang a silent and unconducted quarter peal of St Clement's College Bob Minor. Congratulations also to the 5 ringers who achieved their first quarter peal in July to September (there was no first as conductor in those months):
Jonathan Amos 18 Sep 2007 at Sheldwich (St James)
Jenny Newitt 15 Aug 2007 at Ospringe (SS Peter & Paul)
Colin Osmond 8 Aug 2007 at Foots Cray (All Saints)
Clare Osmond 8 Aug 2007 at Foots Cray (All Saints)
Amy Little 15 Jul 2007 at St Nicholas at Wade (St Nicholas)
